Hiya. Kat here. Back from the beautiful bounty of enigmatic England. The trip was brilliant, good shows and lovely people were had. I got hooked on Marmite, cheap Guiness and Gaymers pear cider. Mmmm….
Thank you to everyone that came, played, befriended, helped and supported. Hope to see you very soon. Here is a brief summary of the trip in photo form:

Dearest friends,
As announced by Exclaim Magazine our new album, Carriage, will be released on June 29th, 2010! We’re very happy to finally be able to announce all the details.

We’ve been working on this since last summer. When we returned home from Europe a lot of the songs started to come together. A later trip to Maison Jaune, a small family farmhouse in rural Ontario, kept us focussed and able to jig out some new ideas and arrangements. This year was a struggle and a transition period for everyone involved in the project. Good times were had, bad times were had, new friends were made and our proverbial hands just clasped tighter on all our hard work. Everything finally cultivated into Carriage: an eleven song journey that depicts growing young, growing old, displacement and the fantastical feeling of realising you’re still quite alive.
- TRACKLISTING -
1. Phodilus & Tyto
2. Tell Me, Cancer
3. Minneapolis
4. Sea to Land
5. Keep the Kids Inside
6. Pocketful of Rocks
7. Oh the Wolves! (Ou Est Ma Soeur?)
8. Light You Up [take a listen!]
9. Constellation

11. If I Were a Tree
We really appreciate all your continued support. It’s really exciting to be able to put out music and tour across this amazing world. Thank you times a million. xo Kat

This week I took off to Pulaski [POO-LA-SKY], New York, for some much needed time away from the city. It was a beautiful retreat to an organic vegetable farm that my friend is working on. My lovely bestie Chantale came along for the ride, and we had a blast just relaxing and wandering around forests and fields, forgetting about this big looming city that we live in. I even helped prune some blueberry bushes! I would love to go back there at the end of the summer when all their hard work will be in constant bloom and the fresh organic produce will be bursting at the seams. It was really nice to spend some time with people that are serious about local foods and organic farming. You should check out this website if you have a chance to learn more about them, as well as other CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) organisations.
While I was gone our record got mastered and sent off – which means it’s totally done. It was nice to come home and realise that I can take a break from thinking about minute details of this-and-that, at least for a little while. It’s now time to think about how we can play the new songs live, make the shows interesting and really focus on the next few months. And with a renewed sense of energy. I thank the organic kale for making me bright-eyed-and-busy-tailed again.
Some big announcements are coming next week and we’ll probably reveal the artwork and track-listing soon as well. Keep checking back, ok? Oh! And our drummer, Christian, is going to be touring with another band called Texting Mackenzie this month. If you see them in your town give him a big hug for us okay? We wish him good luck and safe driving…soon it’s our turn with him!
